How to calibrate a thermal label printer
Most alignment problems come from a mismatch between document size, driver stock size and print scaling. Verify those three layers before moving label elements by eye.
Match the stock in the printer driver
Create or select a paper size whose width and height exactly match the loaded roll. Confirm orientation before testing.
Print a calibration sheet at 100%
Disable Fit, Scale to Fit and Shrink to Printable Area. Print a quarter-inch grid using Actual Size or 100% scaling.
Measure the registration
Compare the printed border and grid against the physical label. Fix driver margins or media sensing before offsetting the artwork.
Test one data row before the batch
Print a single representative record with the longest text and all machine-readable codes, scan it, then release the full PDF.
